Job Role

Motor Transport Supervisor supports the mission of the Red Shield Industries, a social enterprise, highly regarded by the public for its excellent delivery donation in kind service which is sensitive and responsive to the community welfare needs and meeting the funding needs of The Salvation Army. 

It is expected that the  Motor Transport  Supervisor will provide leadership to the transportation team and ensure efficient operation of the collection and delivery with established quality, environment and safety practices.

Job Description

  • Lead and effectively manage a team of drivers, truck helpers and contractors
  • Liaise with the Donor & Customer Care on motor transport operations
  • Ensure the effective operation of the collection and delivery through proper scheduling, precise information and documentation
  • Handle all enquires, complains and feedback, etc on day-to-day basis pertaining to transportation and donation booth matters
  • Update records at all time including timesheets/attendance, vehicle registration logs, insurance, COE, VPC, road tax, traffic summons, checklist, etc
  • Conduct briefing for all truck drivers and movers  every morning, including collection/delivery orders for the day/services notes, attendance for the day and safety and road conditions, etc
  • Perform debrief on a daily basis with Drivers and Movers on issues relating to collections/deliveries, vehicle/equipment problems/defects, complaints/feedback and operations details
  • Perform assignment of routes efficiently, in line with vehicle travel distance and donor requirements
  • Schedule daily collection/deliveries orders
  • Prepare and submission of daily and monthly reports on operations related status

Job Requirements

  • Minimum N or O level.  At least 2 years of supervisory experience in managing a team is required.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, communication and IT skills 
  • Posses minimum valid class 4 licence is preferred
  • Familiar with Singapore road
  • Familiar with accident and insurance claim 
  • Familiar with vehicle and traffic rules and regulations
  • Familiar with the inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles

Working Hours

  • 5.5 work week / 44 hours per week
  • 8.30 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Sunday including Public Holiday (1-hour lunch break and 1/2 tea break)
